Mass-Observation was a social research organisation founded in the United Kingdom by Tom Harrisson in 1937 to record the views of the general population. About 500 volunteer observers recorded anecdotes and comments in diaries or responded to surveys provided by the group. This account was recorded by Celia Fremlin about her experience working with many other women in a factory in Wiltshire in 1942.
