The multi-scale nature of reacting flows makes their simulation particularly challenging. In the different chapters of this volume, key methods are presented which allow bridging scales and running simulations more efficiently without significant loss of accuracy. This volume focuses on single phase flow applications. The scope of the volume is to present key methods to bridge scales in the simulation of reacting single phase flows. Both an academic and industrial audience is expected, the latter having a particular interest in the simulation of industrial scale devices.
