Alzheimer's Disease begins with the most vital component of any disease: the impact it has on the patient. After describing how the mental processes of an AD patient are affected, the physical changes «f an AD patient's brain are examined with an emphasis placed on how these changes alter the way a patient can think. Current theories on why people develop AD are discussed by looking at the roles of genetics and environment. To conclude, a number of the current treatments for AD are explained and the author offers some hope fm possible directions that will lead to new treatment strategies.
