QuickBooks® Pro 2006: Simplifiedis an instructional learning resource. This text has been designed to respond to the growing trend toward adopting Windows applications and computerizing accounting systems. As a result of this trend, the text provides training usingWindows® XPand the popularQuickBooks® Pro 2006accounting program. The text was written using Windows XP and QuickBooks® Pro 2006 but may be used with Windows 2000 and QuickBooks® Basic or Premier versions. Throughout the text, students use a fictitious company that is a combination service/merchandising business and is a sole proprietorship. The chapters encompass a complete business cycle and enable students to receive hands-on training in the use ofQuickBooks® Pro 2006within each chapter. At the end of every chapter, the concepts and applications learned are reinforced by the completion of true/false, multiple-choice, fill-in, and essay questions plus an application problem using a different fictitious service/merchandising company. The final chapter allows the students to create a company for use in QuickBooks. There is one practice set in the text that utilizes all the major concepts and transactions presented within the entire textbook. The text introduces students to the computer, Windows, and QuickBooks accounting for a service business/merchandising business, payroll, and company setup for QuickBooks. The appendix reviews Windows, disk duplication; back up files, and file restoration, downloading a trial version of the software, and downloading company files fromwww.prenhall.com/compaccounting.
