Partnerships was developed as a resource for students, faculty, and teachers to encourage the development of meaningful and respectful relationships with families. The fifth edition of Partnerships differs in several ways from the previous versions. As more children throughout the country enter full-day kindergarten programs, the text has been expanded to be more inclusive of primary school environments. There are more Inside Looks from educators and teachers, other professionals in the field, and ECE students themselves. Students have played a greater role in this edition by providing their insights into their experiences while in their field placements. Many experts from around the country have also shared their ideas, as well as examples of programs that have been successful in their own communities. There is no question that the impact of the Reggio Emilia approach has influenced educators around the world, and this edition continues to reflect its respect for families.
