In publishing this collection of papers, which I have for twenty-five years been collecting, I do so with the h0pe of aiding in preserving materials for history, which may otherwise have been lost. They are given for their intrinsic value, and in the order of dates, without reference to special events. I trust they will be received, as they are offered, as a contribution to the history of that glorious Revolution of which every memorial is dear to South Carolina.
