This dissertation examines the relationship between theology, ethics, and politics in the work of Franz Rosenzweig (1886-1929) and Theodor W. Adorno (1903-1969). This study is neither a straightforward comparison nor an intellectual-historical treatment. Instead, I use the work of these two thinkers to spell out the political possibilities and, importantly, political liabilities of contemporary conversations about political theology.
