Having helped lead the development of the professional game, Davis dominated snooker during the '80s, reaching 8 World Championship finals in 9 years, winning 6 world titles, while holding the world # 1 ranking for 7 successive seasons. Steve's match vs Dennis Taylor in the World Championship final of 1985 is widely regarded as the most famous in snooker history, with its black-ball ending still holding the UK record for the highest after-midnight TV audience, with 18.5 million viewers.
