The 20th edition has been extensively revised to incorporate developments in veterinary science, practice, and regulation since 1998. New information is provided about BSE, foot-and-mouth disease, tuberculosis in cattle and the possible link of its rise to the badger population, antibiotic use and the increase in micro-organisms, new British quarantine regulations, European Union regulations on animal welfare and husbandry, genetic engineering, and other areas.
