Description

Stuart's grandfather, Havana based hoodlum Sol Styfler, dies and leaves 12-year old Stuart a thug's ransom in precious metal-five shipping crates packed with silver dollars.Stuart now has the means, motive, opportunity and wise-guy's arrogance to help his friend Darla Hart dispose of her mother's creepy and abusive boyfriend, Lyle Violet. This guy, says Darla, has "got to go." When they hire one of Sol's hitmen, Budge "The Bat" to do the job, Stuart and Darla learn a life lesson or two about "honest arrogance," a virtue passed down to Stuart via Sol from the great Frank Lloyd Wright, a virtue perhaps called into question back in 1911 when the architect's home, TALIESIN, was torched and eight of its residents ax murdered. The payoff in learning a life lesson comes only if you manage to live long enough to put the lesson to some good use-not so easy when the hit on Lyle Violet goes very wrong and the hitman Budge the Bat decides it's Stuart and Darla who've "got to go..."
