Through their stories, & through the authors testimony about annual retreats he leads at Auschwitz & among New York's homeless, we come to understand that the essence of peacemaking if threefold - letting go of fixed ideas, healing ourselves & others, & bearing witness to whatever is taking place within us & right before our eyes.
