When eighteen-year-old Douglas Morley, with his brother, Clarence Morley aboard The Admiral Baltic, as a rigger and cabin boy, from Half-Moon bay in California, they encounter a horror never known before. It's after becoming shipwrecked on a neglected island in the South Pacific Ocean, Douglas discovers a strange trail of footprints leading them to a secluded cave. The shelter seems assured, however, it soon becomes his largest regret. After becoming trapped inside and wandering further into the cave, they discover they're not alone. Gharkoll Drolk, the dangerous creature without scientific consensus, roams amongst the limestone stalactites and stalagmites. It's soon the tension between the brothers is irrevocable and they struggle to find an escape. Clarence is jealous of Nora and Douglas's attraction towards each other, while enduring the geological dangers and the creature hungering for blood. Can they escape the cave alive? Who will win the heart of Nora? The Cave Dweller is appropriate for fans of monster horror and young adult adventure books.
