Originally published in 1981, "The Anatomy of a Record Company", was written as a textbook for a class taught by Logan Westbrooks at California State University, Los Angeles. It was one of the first books of its kind written about the music industry, and it became a collectors item. Also included is The Harvard Report that was commissioned by Columbia Records Group (CBS Records) in 1972.
