Mechanical Ventilation is a new, clinically oriented textbook/reference that explains decisions and procedures related to mechanical ventilation in real-world terms. Both the principles and practices of mechanical ventilation are covered. Specifically, topics addressed are 1) the physiologic principles of respiratory failure that then necessitates mechanical ventilation, 2) the design principles of mechanical ventilators, 3) the physiologic effects of the mechanical ventilation, and 4) management of patients who are being mechanically ventilated.
