Accompanying the St. Louis Museum of Art's installation art exhibition, "Wonderland" is as impressive in form as in content: it comes with a special insert containing photographs of the on-site installations, reproduced in full-color posters. This innovative design is a perfect complement to the sense of active creation, of imagination, and of joy that characterizes the works of art here. The ten artists represented are Janet Cardiff, Olafur Eliasson, Teresita Fernandez, Stephen Hendee, Bill Klaila, Joep van Lieshout, Ernesto Neto, Pipilotti Rist, Gregor Schneider and Jennifer Steinkamp. Each makes art whose constructed or alternate realities inspire and engage our physical involvement, creating experiences for the body as well as the intellect. In addition to the works themselves, "Wonderland" features interviews with the artists and critical essays by authors including Terence Riley (Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art, New York), Beatriz Colomina (Professor of Architecture at Princeton University) and Giuliana Bruno (Professor of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University).
