Walter E. Massey, former chairman of Bank of America, announced that Beckham Publications will release his memoir, "In the Eye of the Storm: My Time as Chairman of Bank of America During the Country's Worst Financial Crisis," in October, 2020."Massey's memoir will offer an insider's gaze at events and people that never before have been revealed publicly," says publisher Barry Beckham. "He has promised not to hold back on how surprised and flabbergasted he felt after learning that the board had chosen him." Although this memoir will focus on Massey's time with Bank of America, it will incorporate relevant details of his other professional activities, Beckham says. "Walter's breadth of accomplishments includes president emeritus of Morehouse College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and leadership roles at the National Science Foundation and Argonne National Laboratory.""In addition," says Beckham, "he talks about his personal difficulties like a psychologically devastating divorce, a mother debilitated by alcoholism, and his life being threatened during a racial disturbance in St. Louis."
