Description

"Reatha and her twin sister Leatha, were heralded and recognized for the work that they had accomplished in evangelizing, both near and far. They were trailblazers-going into areas where no Church of God in Christ had ever existed, sleeping in the same tent where they ministered, and preaching under brush arbors and on street corners, in the cities and in the country. They preached in the sunshine, rain and snow. The fearlessly went into these areas and established numerous churches throughout the nation. They embodied the true essence of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ which says in Matthew 28:19, 'Go ye and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.' This powerful duo was instrumental in establishing over 75 churches, nursing them in their infancy until a pastor could be appointed. Leatha passed away in the 70's, but Reatha worked relentlessly for the kingdom until she passed away in 2005 at 104 years old."--Bishop Charles Edward Blake Sr.
