After a long investigation, a Commission of Inquiry into the care and treatment of patients in the psychiatric unit of the Townsville General Hospital in Queensland between 1975 and 1987, made findings which heavily criticised Dr John Lindsay, the then director of the Unit. This is Dr Lindsay's effort to set the record straight, and to show that he was the victim of cost-cutting in staff and equipment and of a politically-motivated witch-hunt.
