Description
The book tells the story of a common man who felt compelled to do his patriotic duty and enlist in the Union Army during the Civil War. After losing a brother to the war he too feels the need to enlist to defend his country even though it means leaving his family and fiancee behind. Hear and feel life as it was on the road, in the camps, and on the battlefield. The book is loosely based on his great-grandfather, Lewis N. Cox, who was a veteran of the Civil War. The content, although based on historical fact, is completely fictional.
