The book is an anthology, a collection of personal stories penned by women behind Operation Iraqi Freedom, the mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, grandmothers and girlfriends as the ones left behind with fear, hope and love. Several stories are written by servicewomen serving in Iraq who experienced the war firsthand. It is possibly the first book published about women on this current conflict. The anthology contains more than fifty stories and more than seventy photographs.
