Surely, numerous advances in archeology and hermeneutics (the unprecedented accessibility to extra-testimental literature such as Roman, Jewish, and Greek sources, makes all the difference in the world when seeking to postulate a fair, level-headed, and balanced assessment of the events in question. Accurate background information is absolutely indispensable when trying to discern any measurable degree of historical trustworthiness.
