A collection of quilts and related stories from 12 years of shows that were held in Troup, Texas. Since 2000, the author Deborah Burkett orgainzed these shows which featured quilts and their histories; many dating back to the 1800s as well as quilts completed only a month before the show. Photographs were taken of everything: the quilts, their owners and social activities during each 4th of July event. The resulting book includes over images of 500 quilts from the 19th-21st centuries, plus images of pioneer quilters, generational quilters and home demonstration groups. There are also sections on quilting history, which contain historical information about quilting patterns, fabic, dyes and techniques.
