Remembering Rohatyn is the product of decades of work. In 1962, the Society of the Rohatiner in Israel published a yizkor book which included an amalgam of articles, memoirs, documents, maps, photos, and a martyrology in a variety of languages. Some 30 years later, Leah Zahav, a Holocaust survivor from Rohatyn, took it upon herself to have that edition translated. The complete translation is included in Section I of Remembering Rohatyn. In 1997, 1998 and 1999, members of the Society of the Rohatiner in Israel traveled to Rohatyn and they restored Jewish cemeteries there. Memoirs and photos from their trips are included among others in Section II of Remembering Rohatyn. Also included are biographies of the original contributors.
