谈到文化,人们大都想到的是贵族的、士大夫的、资本的、权力的文化,很少有人想到一种独立而完整的劳动文化或劳工文化。本书与它的前身《劳动哲学》(人民出版社,2012)一样,是由作者在汉语文化圈中首创的劳动哲学和劳动文化学研究成果,其宗旨和中心思想是,劳动者和劳工阶级要成为独立而完整的历史主体和社会主体,要发起卓有成效的组织行为和集体行动,要作为宪政民主左翼力量积极地改变整个社会的经济政治制度,就不能没有自己独立的哲学和文化,否则就永远只能蹒跚地、被动地跟随在别的阶级之后。

所谓劳动文化,是文化的劳动化或向劳动的回归,是一种伸张劳动的价值和地位、伸张劳动者的尊严和权利的文化,是一种弘扬劳动者的经济政治主体、精神文化主体和社会历史主体地位的历史观和价值观。所谓劳动文化学,作为一门新兴的交叉学科,紧紧抓住劳动的精神性、主体性、主观性方面,立足于工人阶级的阶级意识的形成和发展,把劳工哲学意识、劳工经济意识、劳工政治意识、劳工心理、劳工伦理、劳工法律意识、劳工审美意识、劳工文学、劳工艺术、劳工文化传播等内容整合起来,形成一个具有强烈价值取向的劳工文化体系。
