His first brush with the law was at the age of 15 for a armed robbery. This was an opportunity in adversity for Hass to channel his energy elsewhere. At the age of 16 Hass found sanctuary in basketball. Even with being a high school star basketball Hass was still one foot in and one foot out of the streets finding himself in trouble with the law again in his senior year. With 0 division 1 college offers Hass went to a local Jr College. His Jr college basketball coach seen great potential in Hass and gave him a chance which led to Hass leaving Buffalo and eventually obtaining a scholarship to Division 1 Bethune Cookman University. Again, faced with adversity Hass dropped out to pursue a professional basketball career. That career was short lived as Hass was cut during the season. More adversity with little opportunity Hass went back to the streets and criminal activity which eventually landed him in federal prison. This is where Hass made an opportunity in an adverse time. Having his first daughter changed everything and a second daughter not long after his release Hass created a TV show that would eventually land Hass to meeting a kid with cancer that changed everything. Hass found his life's purpose of telling stories. He would go on to license his first brand for a six-figure deal and go on to work with the likes of Rob Gronkowski, Jabbawockeez, Ti, and other sports stars to help kids have EPIC experiences. This book is Hass' guide to finding opportunities in life's many adversities. This book takes readers to the many different lives Hass has lived while giving gems of when he took advantage of opportunities in adversity and when he didn't and how the reader can take advantage of opportunities when it seems like there is none there.
