Description

Without her knowledge, danger has followed Maggie Griffin her entire life. Even now, Maggie is still unaware that she's in the middle of a love triangle, past and present. She never would have become involved with Ben if she'd known the truth. Cooper Patterson, Chicago's finest young blue-eyed private investigator, journeys to the tranquil town of Lakewood, Wisconsin. He rushes to the north woods to help out his old pal, Ben, and possibly get in a bit of fishing. However, Cooper's trip is anything but relaxing. He wakes the following morning and discovers his friend has been brutally murdered. Over the next few days, Cooper realizes that small towns have their secrets too and soon he becomes embroiled in murder, kidnapping, lust and greed. Sheriff Thorn Benson, a highly respected and seasoned officer, who's dealing with demons of his own, accepts Cooper's help with the case. Together they discover that the past may come back to haunt you and, sometimes, it can be deadly. Cooper and Thorn unravel a twenty-six-year-old mystery, a scandalous mystery, a mystery that some would rather leave buried.
