Continuing the Angel Kisses series of books is this second one involving a new “human assignment” granted to the magnificent angels, Rachel and Marcus. The angels’ task begins in early Ireland, around the year 450 A.D. Loosely based on fact, this story follows the life of Saint Brigid and shows her trials. In reality, her father was a warlord king of Ireland and her mother a slave. Also factual, she had a reputation for incredible appeal, both inside and out. This novel follows likely strains between the young girl’s father and slave mother and the child’s own relegation to facing an arranged marriage. So she prays to become unacceptable to men. Also, finding her striking appearance to be a handicap to serving God, she becomes hideously deformed and thus free to follow her dream. This is the second of the Angel Kisses series. Each book will follow the life of a young person, a hero or heroine, tracing documented miracles and weaving fiction into historically significant moments in time.
