Throughout history, socioeconomic interests have separated the country's plutocrats from the middle and lower classes. Wealthy Americans have used their power and money as tools to subjugate the working class. America's elite has driven a wedge between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' by engaging in acrimonious methods to obtain greater political power and wealth. The upper class has engaged in wars in the quest for resources and cheap labor. Plutocrats have implemented dubious and draconian policies and laws which have benefited corporate America.
