Despite the author's efforts to squelch the question “Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?” it continued to hound him for over twenty-five years. Like many, he believed the reason for Christ's death was to pay the price to redeem us from our sins and he couldn't understand why the question wouldn't leave him. Finally, hoping to put an end to the hounding, he set aside time to systematically search for the answer. During his exhaustive Bible search, the author was given a new life changing understanding concerning the reason behind Jesus' willingness to die on the cross. As is often the case, God also blessed him with afresh insight into the Trinity.
