The story picks up 7 months after "From the Ashes" as Jake and Dana begin their honeymoon by heading to New Orleans in preparation for Mardi Gras. USATS continues the hunt for Kincaid and any other elements or members of The Phoenix. Numerous leads have shown promise yet all of them have fizzled out as Kincaid stays one step ahead. Promised and granted complete isolation from the rest of The Fellas for his honeymoon, Jake is ready to finally relax and put what happened to him with his initial run-in with the Phoenix behind him. Deciding to strike and catching everyone off guard, Kincaid enlists the help of four new men to finish what was started. Letting his location be known, USATS summons the Fellas once more, minus Jake, to bring Kincaid in. A personal errand calls for the Keller's to return to their family outside of New Orleans when they learn the matriarch of the family has been brutally attacked. When it comes to light the location of Kincaid and the proximity to Jake and Dana, Uncle Jerry is tentative to tell his nephew. Assuring Kincaid of more help and more men, the Phoenix unleashes a lethal and brutal plan of attack on the city of New Orleans and more importantly Jake and Dana. Exercising its worldwide muscle into everything and anything it can, The Phoenix see to it that The Fellas are to turn themselves into the World Court in The Hague for alleged war crimes in the former Yugoslavia. If they choose not to, then 10 Interpol agents will pick them up to bring them in for justice. As an addendum, the wives MUST leave the city and return to Chicago or they as well as the party-goers in New Orleans will suffer on a scale never seen before. The stakes are stacked higher and the Fellas find themselves isolated and caught in the most vicious game of survival yet. They are caught in the cross-hairs and are fighting an enemy that has their feet strongly in place on the throats of the Fellas and the city of New Orleans. While this is happening, someone from Jake'
