Darksiders starts out following a group of Darksiders from the dark side of the planet, Stasis, on what they consider an average day. Upon their return home, they hear whispers of trouble in the capitol of the Sunbathers, who reside on the sun side of the planet. Soon they are greeted by two Sunbathers that ask the Darksiders to accompany them to the capitol. There, the minister of the Sunbathers asks them to help hunt down Olaf, the man responsible for stealing the main power source, Ultimatter, from the capitol. The Darksiders accept and leave the capitol with a team of Sunbathers to assist them in their hunt for Olaf.
Death and War, two of the feared Horsemen, are sent to stop a group of renegades from locating a hoard of weapons possessing ultimate power and malice and unleashing total destruction.
