The story means a lot to me because it is based on how the author felt arriving in the city at young age from Mauritius to England in the 1970's and the culture shock of London city, and the dream of returning back to Mauritius, where the pink pigeons fly in the sky and where dodos have lived, there are little parts of the book that are about how the Bird With No Name eats Green beetles and meets black and white limas that live in the baobab tree of Madagascar, the bird survives in hustle and bustle of the big city, and the bird make a nest between the steel trees.
