Wanderer of the Wasteland, Man of the Forest, and Riders of the Purple Sage were his best-selling book. He wrote more than 100 novels and collection of short stories. His novels and short stories have been adapted into 112 films, three television series included episodes adapted from his work, including the Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre.
