Description

A journey through an epic fantasy universe that is as at once dark and light, challenging ideals of good and evil. On the face of it; this is little more than mythology with a standard wizard and dour Dwarf standing stage center. Delve deeper though and Dirk is not a typical anything and as for the Dwarf... He plainly has issues with everything including himself. As the story develops, so too do the characters evolve, small details become hugely important in a complex story covering a planned 9 novels... Deceit, corruption, discrimination. Idealist versus necessity; the importance of relationships and their limitations. This Eyrthe has many religions and theological concepts are called into question throughout this tale. Many accepted social modern standards, which we too share today are challenged as Dirk slowly trickles towards self awareness. At times this could be horror, thriller; comedy or porn... It is a book intended for the intelligent reader as adult themes run throughout. Yet it is written in a manner that appeals to the masses. B&H encompasses many categories but the best way to sum the story up would be the following... If you liked reading Tolkien's works or enjoyed a certain Potter but feel like you've grown up somewhat... i.e. you'd sooner kick a Leprechaun in the nuts and steal his gold, rather than rescue a damsel in distress... If you like stories that captivate you, connect you to the characters, leave your emotions in a mess and transport you to another time and place, then you must read Blood and Honour. One of the best novels for many a generation.
