Pero no solo contra ellos, sino tambien contra una telaraa de mentiras y secretos guardados por milenios que incluyen a su tan amada Iglesia Catlica, la cual parece mantener una especie de guerra santa contra la secta, Nidos, y a un grupo religioso, no catolico, pero con ideas nuevas para el, que tambien la enfrenta desde las epocas de Jesus de Nazaret aunque de una manera diferente. El padre Rieger sabe que debe defender a la feligresia de su iglesia, a la vez que intenta afianzar y reforzar su propia fe; pero, a pesar de sus buenos intentos, se ver siempre confrontado con muchas realidades, miedos y sentimientos desconocidos para el.
