Ante este hecho, el Presidente, para frenar la temible “agenda” de la Organización, decide rescatar, a pesar de las opiniones en contra de su amigo y Jefe de Gabinete, Dennis Hakshare y del viejo senador demócrata Gerald Ford, un proyecto ultra secreto que se realizó en el año 2001 en la base naval de Dover, condado de Kent y cuyo propósito era rescatar a alguien de una muerte inducida para averiguar lo que hay detrás de ella. Será Gary Shalmond, bróker de una importante compañía de inversiones de Nueva York y que por avatares de la vida se encuentra en un callejón sin salida, el elegido para someterse a este experimento, denominado Special Spy. Sus revelaciones serán sorprendentes, entre ellas las referentes al Punto Omega. Una cadena de suicidios y crímenes abortarán el deseo del Presidente de comunicar al mundo entero las asombrosas conclusiones del proyecto.
