Musculoskeletal imaging is a technique of creating a visual representation of the musculoskeletal system for clinical analysis and medical intervention. It also helps in the assessment of musculoskeletal functions. Musculoskeletal imaging comprises of computed tomography scans, radiographs, magnetic resonance imaging, bone scans and musculoskeletal ultrasonography. High-resolution imaging has facilitated the evaluation of joint injuries, determines the cause of chronic pain, assesses joint replacements, image muscle disorders, and bone and soft tissue tumors. Several clinical procedures are image-guided such as certain biopsies, joint aspirations, peripheral nerve pain management, etc. This book discusses the fundamentals as well as modern approaches of musculoskeletal imaging. The various studies that are constantly contributing towards advancing technologies and evolution of musculoskeletal imaging are examined in detail. As this domain is emerging at a fast pace, this book will help the readers to better understand the contemporary perspectives in musculoskeletal imaging.
