***NEW RELEASE IN HONOR OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH (APRIL 1-30)*** "These pages lead you through my experiences and healing as a rape survivor. This is an evolutionary journey I now deem my metamorphosis. I show my scars, not to intimidate him for creating them, but to remind those of you with wounds that you are not alone. Today I offer you love. In this moment, our lanes are crossing for a reason. I'm here to tell you that you are loved. You are powerful. You are free. That which was intended to break, destroy, and defeat you, will be the very thing to empower you to evolve. May you go with peace. May you move in love. May you always have the courage to fly."Evelyn Carree was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. After high school, she left to attend Texas A&M University for college. During her sophomore year of college, she became a statistic; she became one of the many individuals raped in college. Though her rapist did not attend Texas A&M, he still tainted the city. Graduating from college began to slowly fade away as a distant desire as her focus was simply on graduating from her trauma each day. This experience shortly became a source of inspiration for her. Instinctually, she leaned into her place of comfort: artistic expression. She took her feelings of discombobulation to the pages of her journal to unravel the unique feelings she was experiencing. Writing offered her freedom that was unknown off the page. During this time, she began to notice the intrinsic value of nature; it became her primary source of connection and love. In this place of connection, there was a mutual understanding of what it meant to be acted upon. This is where she and God met to explore the realms of all possibilities within her and in the world. The oneness she feels through God in nature inspires many of her artistic pieces today.
