The box of stuff in my basement was just going to sit there until someone throws it out after I'm gone. What a waste that would be. Leon's story was in the box. His 5th-grade school newsletter, photos, military orders to different bases, clues to his friends and their memories. And the letters. Nothing is as real as handwritten thoughts to and from Leon. Leon's short life was almost forgotten. Only a few friends and family from that era survive today. Along with their stories, memorabilia and the official Air Force crash report, the stuff in the box tells Leon's story, but it won't do it from my basement. Here is Leon's story.
