Sandwiched between the South China, Sulu and Celebes Seas, Borneo is the third biggest island in the world and also the only island which is home to three nations: Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. Despite extensive destruction of its rainforests over the past couple of decades, Borneo remains a floating natural paradise of tropical rainforest, jungle and wild animals. Its past is one of highlands, islands, head-hunters, sultanates and sea-going myths and therefore offers a rich cultural experience for adventure travelers, divers and sunbathers alike.
