Description

Bishop Catherine A. Camper, God's own chosen and anointed vessel, is a visionary on divine assignment. One of twelve children, she grew up in a strict, yet loving, home. Her mother, Eva Palmer, was a minister; her father, Denard Palmer, a deacon, so church has always been a way of life for her. Even before her marriage to Elder Golden Camper over a half century ago and the birth of her four children (Carla, Karen, Kendall, and Melissa), she knew that God had a "special" assignment for her. Four stepchildren, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren later, her vision is still yet unfolding as God reveals His perfect plan for her lifeone victory at a time. Bishop Camper has always exemplified qualities of leadership, accountability, and responsibility. She has always been a trailblazer, pioneering new paths that were uncharted and unfamiliar to many women of her era. These types of challenges fueled Catherine's drive for equality, recognition, and change. At the tender age of sixteen, she served as youth director and evangelized many teens at her home church in Seaford, Delaware. In 1978, Bishop Camper founded the United Deliverance Bible Center and accepted her pastoral ministry. Through trials, obstacles and a debilitating illness, she has never once doubted God's call on her life. God honored Bishop Camper's desire to study the Word of God. She now holds two doctoral degrees from Logos International Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a gifted teacher, anointed preacher, and dynamic seminarian. Still, she lives a life of servitude and dedication to first her Savior, Jesus Christ, then to her church and family. In 1992, Bishop Camper again stepped out on her ever-increasing faith, and, along with her growing congregation, built the beautiful 400+ capacity sanctuary located on West Seventh Street in Laurel, Delaware. Many ministries have been birthed out of this great vision, and Bishop Camper is quick to tell anyone that God did it, not her. These ministries include: The Bible Center School and College, where she serves as teacher and Chancellor; the Bible Center Christian Academy, where she serves as Superintendent; and the Victory Fellowship Crusade, where she serves as Establishmentarian and Bishop. n 1987, I performed a critical ten-hour surgery on Pastor Catherine Camper. I shall never forget that experience. Her spinal cord was so damaged from a huge calcium deposit that I was amazed she survived. I had only seen one case worse than Catherine's. During those intense hours in surgery, her heart stopped three separate times. Throughout the surgical procedure, I prayed intensely for God to spare her life. I sensed that this woman was no ordinary person, but one called by God to carry out a special assignment for Him. I could sense the anointing on her life. When her heart stopped the first time, I called out to the Lord, "You promised me this one." It was touch-and-go for days even after the surgery, but Pastor Camper had her family, friends, and the saints of God holding a prayer vigil for her recovery. Not only did she recover, but her recuperation period was so short that when she came back to my office for a check-up a few weeks later, I could not believe my eyes. She looked absolutely fantastic! Only God could have healed her body so quickly. My faith was increased by this awesome walking testimony of God's power! I am honored to have had the privilege to be used by God in the life of one of His shepherds. Through my work, God has blessed me to help bring healing to the natural body. Through the work and ministry of Bishop Catherine Camper, you can find the path to serve the One who gives eternal life.
