This anthology opens up a forum for art educators to conceptualize, discuss, and share their approaches and best practices of teaching critical thinking and civic participation through digital media and technologies to diverse populations of children and youth in both K-16 classrooms and community settings. Particular interest in the approaches and practices that engage students in using digital media to challenge gender, class, racial, ethnic, and other cultural biases and stereotypes. These approaches and practices draw students' attention to the social, economic, and political issues in their communities and the larger world around them and help them create online networks that promote egalitarian dialogue, collaboration, and participation among its members.
