Description

Serena, daughter of a British diplomat returns to Dahana, the Middle Eastern country she was raised in. Her parents have moved on to Vienna and Serena, now a young woman is independent at last, fully qualified to teach 'English as a Foreign Language' and speaking fluent Arabic. Her smooth transition to working at the language school is interrupted when in the souk one evening, she meets her ex-boyfriend, the handsome Omar with a rich Arab woman at his side. Her fascination with the desert and the pursuit of Omar involves her in exciting but dangerous situations. Anna Lawrence has had a varied career on the stage, performing in an American circus and broadcasting in the Middle East. She and her husband lived and worked for nearly thirty years mostly in the Gulf States where Anna learnt Arabic and taught 'English as a Foreign Language'. Her experience forms a background for this story although it is not autobiographical.
