As the longest residing resident of Scott Street in New Liskeard, Benadette has watched the world change from her front porch. From that little porch, as life would have it, Bernadette chose to expand her horizons and travel the world. She took the advice of many people and actually went to Timbuktu, as well as Venice, Rome, Paris, London, Cairo, Beijing, Bangkok, Tokyo, San Francisco, Peggy's Cove, Vancouver, St. John's, Vienna and Amsterdam, to name a few. Le Passage was written with the idea of providing a time capsule of life in the Tri-Towns and beyond, through the eyes and memories of a great-grandmother.
