In Game of My Life: Texas Longhorns several prominent Texas players of the past share their fondest single game experience and memories, largely in their own works, with authors Michael Pearle and Bill Frisbe of Inside Texas. Through interviews with such Longhorn greats as Tommy Nobis, Steve Worster, Earl Campbell, Major Applewhite, Robert Brewer, Nathan Vasher, and James Brown, the authors take the reader on a journey back to some of the greatest games in Texas history. The reader will see the 1982 Cotton Bowl through the eyes of MVP Brewer as Texas came back to beat Bear Bryant and Alabama. They will be there at the creation of the Wishbone offense as Worster recounts how the formation sprang to life, and how it felt to run it against Arkansas in the Big Shootout in 1969. They will feel the pressure on Applewhite as he dodged the Nebraska rush to throw the touchdown pass that ended the Huskers 47-game home winning streak on Halloween, 1998. And they will line up under center against OU with James Brown in 1994 as he recounts the feeling of knocking off the Sooners as a freshman quarterback.
