La Bitterroot Valley est devenue semblable à un chaudron où bouillonne la violence. La Rose du Cimarron, Heartwood, Bitterroot... Burke décline une géographie de l'Ouest américain hantée par le mal. A la fois violente et lyrique, cette troisième aventure de Billy Bob Holland ne décevra pas les amoureux de son univers.
