Le livre "Drogues et vieillissement" consiste en une revue et une critique des recherches sur la consommation de médicaments et de drogues par les personnes âgées. Les auteurs examinent les liens entre les problèmes complexes du vieillissement et la consommation des médicaments prescrits, des médicaments en vente libre et des drogues récréatives (caféine, tabac et alcool, marijuana, etc.). Ils traitent des problèmes épidémiologiques, des aspects psychologiques et sociologiques, des implications relatives à la prévention, incluant l'efficacité des drogues qui sont supposées préserver la jeunesse.
