Description

Jour de repêchage dans la Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec. Tous les espoirs sont permis pour Félix Riopel des Estacades de Trois-Rivières. L’attaquant vedette souhaite être sélectionné en première ronde après la saison du tonnerre qu’il vient de connaître au niveau midget. Les noms retentissent dans l’aréna, mais pas celui de l’habile joueur de centre qui s’impatiente de plus en plus... Finalement, les Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda en font leur choix de troisième ronde. Soulagé, il rencontre l’entraîneur-chef qui le met au défi dès leur premier contact. Mais le kid, malgré sa petite taille, a du coeur au ventre et ne se laisse pas intimider. Après cette importante journée, le doute s’empare de Félix, qui hésite à quitter son patelin, sa mère et sa blonde. C’est pourtant clair qu’avec son talent, il doit tenter sa chance. Avec l’aide de son meilleur chum, il décide de s’entraîner ferme pour faire partie de l’équipe dès sa première année. Au camp, Félix impressionne. Mais se refaire une vie à plus de 700 kilomètres de chez soi n’est pas de tout repos pour un hockeyeur de seize ans. Le petit joueur de la Mauricie a peu de chances de se tailler une place. Il le sait et doit se dépasser tous les jours. Mais cela sera-t-il suffisant ? Un roman enlevant qui évoque à merveille notre passion du hockey !
