Diese dritte Auflage des Kommentars zum schweizerischen Patentgesetz und Europäischen Patentübereinkommen steht vor allem im Zeichen des schweizerischen Bundespatentgerichts, welches am 1.1.2012 seine Tätigkeit aufgenommen hat. Mit dem Bundespatentgericht hat in der Schweiz eine neue Ära der Patentrechtsprechung begonnen, und das neue Gericht hat in den letzten sechs Jahren eine Reihe von Entscheiden mit hoher Qualität gefällt. Im Patentgesetz sind rund 30 Artikel geändert oder neu eingefügt worden, und zwar auf dem Gebiet der ergänzenden Schutzzertifikate für Heil- und Pflanzenschutzmittel. Der Kommentar behandelt auch Fragen des Verfahrensrechts, und hier reflektiert er die Rechtsprechung in Anwendung der Schweizerischen Zivilprozessordnung. Das Werk wird ergänzt durch zahlreiche Verzeichnisse und Tabellen, welche die Benützung erleichtern.
