Im Rahmen der Tagung 2019 des Fachausschusses Neurologie des DVE e.V. ging es um die Frage, inwieweit Ergotherapeuten gerüstet sind, um sich der Herausforderung lebensweltorientierter Therapie in der praktischen Arbeit zu stellen. Dieser Tagungsband dokumentiert Ansätze und Modelle und verknüpft sie mit Beispielen und Erfahrungen aus der täglichen Praxis. Lebensweltorientierung spielt in allen Phasen des ergotherapeutischen Prozesses eine wichtige Rolle. Für Ergotherapeuten in der Neurologie liegt die Herausforderung darin, auch mit komplexen Einschränkungen der Handlungsfähigkeit von Klienten lebensweltorientiert umzugehen und die Klienten so in ihrer Autonomie zu stärken. Der Tagungsband beinhaltet alle Vorträge, die bei der Herbsttagung des Fachausschusses Neurologie gehalten worden sind. Er bietet so auch Therapeuten, die nicht vor Ort waren, einen guten Überblick über den aktuellen Stand der Diskussion zur Lebensweltorientierung in der Ergotherapie.
